May's free family music program sponsored by the Friends of the Carmel Valley Library will be held on Wednesday, May 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the Library's community room. It will feature flutist Carlos Aguilar performing pieces by Greg Patillo, Franz Doppler, and Otar Taktakishvili. He will be accompanied by pianist Melissa Evans. The program will last 45 minutes. The Library is located at 3919 Townsgate Drive in Carmel Valley. Boys & Girls Club Youth Arts Music & Food Trucks, May 16, 2015

The Polster Branch of the Boys & Girls Club is holding their "Commotion by the Ocean" festival on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The event will be at the Carmel Valley Polster Branch Field, 3800-A Mykonos Lane. This 7th annual rock and roll picnic concert is family and community friendly and will feature 14 of Youth Arts Academy’s student created bands. The rock bands that will be performing consist of talented young musicians who have a passion for music. There will also be food trucks serving pizza, burgers and Kona Ice. See the program for complete program and registration information. Program includes information on youth and adult sports leagues, martial arts, kids gym, acting and more. TPHS Electronics Recycling & Shredding, April 25, 2015

Torrey Pines High School will be holding a community electronics recycling and paper shredding event this Saturday & Sunday (April 25 & 26) to honor Earth Day. Hours are 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Electronics recycling is free and accepts most items (See flier. No flourescent bulbs, no alkaline batteries, no large appliances, no microwaves, no smoke detectors.) Paper shredding is $5.00 per file box. Paper and Electronics will be collected through out the event hours. Paper will be stored in 64 gallon bins until the shred truck arrives to shred all the paper on-site at the end of each event. 100% of all paper is shred ON SITE at the end of each event. CV Planning Board Agenda, April 23, 2015

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board will hold it's regular monthly meeting on April 23, 2015 from 7:00 to 10:00 pm at the Carmel Valley Library, 3919 Townsgate Drive. The Agenda is attached here. The Agenda includes information on water conservation in the drought, elections results for the board, a proposed stop sign at Grandvia & High Bluff, the City's climate action plan, a wireless facility at Carmel Country Plaza, the development of a school off Carmel Country Road near the open space trails to the south of SR-56, an update to the board's bylaws, and consideration of reducing the number of planning board seats. CVCPB Livability Subcommittee Meeting, April 21, 2015

The Carmel Valley Community Planning Board's Livability Subcommitte will meet on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at 5:30 pm at the Carmel Valley Rec Center. The committee is focused on transportation-related livability/safety issues, green infrastructure improvements and placemaking enhancements. This is not meant to be a parks group, but may include trails. See the AGENDA (Attached) for details.
